Augwir Technologies- One of India’s most successful Augmented and Virtual Reality studios
5 years ago Saritha KeshamoniIn an exclusive interview, the science graduate and Woxsen School of Business alumni reveals how he is looking to transform the structure of people’s imagination
Presentation of an idea, be it a project, marketing model, or case study, could be considered as the fine line between rejection and pilot mode. Nearly every corporate professional has been on the presenting as well as receiving end of long power point slides and projector malfunctions that do not inspire interactive discussions. But, what if a blend of technology in this conventional method could bring the surroundings to life and revolutionize the way a company puts an idea forward? On that note, Aditya Tekumalla, founder and CEO of Augwir Technologies, is one of the pioneers of Augmentation as a service in the country with the combination of AR and VR.
A science graduate and management alumni of Woxsen School of Business, Aditya Tekumalla is changing the way people, in the future, would structure, and present their imagination. His venture is best defined as a unique content creation studio that uses augmented reality and virtual reality to enhance the interaction with surroundings.
For instance, Augwir Technologies helps marketing companies quit the age-old approach of vague theoretical descriptions and project their products in a three-dimensional manner. “For companies with heavy duty or excessive variety of products such as furniture, television, electronics, shoes, etc, the use of augmented reality not only ensures an elaborate description of the product details, but further helps in delivering an immersive experience to the client,†said Aditya. He started Augwir in March 2017, just after he completed his PGDM course from Woxsen School of Business.ÂÂÂ
“If you have an idea and you think it is crazy, Woxsen is the place you have to go,†said Aditya. Talking about his B-school decision and experience, Aditya did not shy away from giving a fair share of credit for the initial business setup, consistent support, and an inherent understanding of entrepreneurship.
A PGDM alumni, he believes that the education pedagogy at Woxsen helped him understand the practical applications of knowledge and experience the hurdles of an entrepreneurial venture before beginning with his own. This can be attributed to partnership of Woxsen School of Business with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) that ensured national level exposure as Aditya and his project team presented their idea in the TiE Asia Regional Finals.ÂÂÂ
Furthermore, Aditya highlighted the important role of a global faculty at the B-school that paved the way for holistic learning instead of its curriculum-centric narrow counterpart. “A heterogeneous mixture of Indian and foreign teachers is instrumental in understanding the current happenings of Indian as well as global market,†he stated.
Talking about Augwir products, Aditya mentioned the Smart Glasses developed entirely in India. These glasses function on the combination of Augmented Reality (AR) and gesture recognition.
Centered on industrial use, the idea behind the product was to relay real-time information of machinery in the real world, thereby eliminating the use of localized dashboards for consistency checks. In addition, augmented reality is instrumental in simplifying the maintenance procedure with machine blueprints, seamless browsing through data via gesture recognition, and virtual step-by-step guide.
When asked about the latest project in the pipeline, Aditya said, “We are currently with different clients from a variety of domains and customizing the AR-VR technology that we offer with their product and industry needs. For this, we use the combination of game development engines and a range of software development kits that ensure easy user experience.â€ÂÂ
Considering the efforts of Augwir Technologies and vision of Aditya Tekumalla in the field of Augmented and Virtual Reality, the company could play a key role in creating a demand for this technology across different industries in India.
