download 2“MeraEvents”, a one-stop destination for information and entry to all events has recently secured a USD 1 million funding from Omics International. Meraevents was featured earlier on Startup Hyderabad and our article detailed their efficient presentation of various events and secure ticketing system. We are glad that their efforts have led them to raise the funds they need to add more features to their repertoire and increase coverage to more cities.

Having featured more than 10,000 events during 2013-14, MeraEvents looks to be all set to meet the target of 25,000 for 2014-15. Their daily ticket sales amount to over a crore rupees with partnerships in excess of 13,000 event organisers nationwide. Over this period, a small team of 6 has grown to well over 40 and seeks to reach 100 by end of 2014. The funding would be utilised in increased expansion and to achieve that, the team is looking to grow at a rapid pace.

The association with Omics would further benefit MeraEvents by giving them access to the 300 Scientific and Medical conferences that Omics is planning to conduct this year. For Omics, the ever growing user base of MeraEvents would mean more visibility and promotion for their events. In addition, the advancement of MeraEvents owing to this funding would also enable them to achieve another round of funding amounting to USD 4 Million in six months.

All of this goes to cement MeraEvents’s position as a major competitor to other prominent platforms  such as BookmyShow. We will keep a close eye on their strides to progress and development as they go about connecting more enthusiasts to their choice of events across India.
