She is a business graduate, who had a major in finance from Welingkars Institute, and did a master’s course in brand management from Istituto Marangoni. Sass bar is a Mumbai-based brand that offers a quirky array of handmade soaps that look like desserts. Yes, the soaps that look like our fave macarons, doughnuts, cupcakes, tarts, and summer fave popsicles. Along with the unique array of soap bars, these good folks have also got candles, bath bombs, scrubs, curated gifts boxes, and customized gifting.
These handcrafted soaps are paraben, sulfate, and cruelty-free. They use coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, and sweet almond oil to make them, which are great for the skin. The fragrances and colors are imported from skin-safe tested companies in the USA and Europe. The glitter they use is also skin-safe, biodegradable, and eco-friendly.
Prices start at Rs 185 and go up to Rs 350 per piece. The Sass Bar also offers a range of gift boxes starting at Rs 1,500 onwards. The handmade soap brand claims to have catered to more than 10,000 customers till now. The Sass Bar had a successful run with its Christmas collections and is now focusing on two new box launches. The customer return rate is about 15 percent and they sell approximately 3,000 soaps a month!
The Saas Bar founder has pitched quite rightly in Shark Tank India, the sharks absolutely loved her pitch. Founder Rishika has asked for ₹40 lakhs in exchange for an 8% share of her company. Anupam Mittal and Ghazal Alagh showed a lot of interest in this business and after declaring some rules about investing in this startup, both of them have finalized this deal for ₹50 lakhs in exchange for 35% equity.
