THE TASTE COMPANY: A WHOLE NEW LEAGUE IN INSTANT FOODS

In recent years, there has been a marked boom in the instant food market. With our never-ending slew of deadlines and exceedingly busy schedules, sparing more than a few minutes to cook nutritious food to nourish ourselves has become a rare luxury. The demand for good, home-style, nutritionally balanced instant food is thus, now more than ever. A lot of brands such as McCain Foods, MTR Foods, iD Fresh, Haldirams, ITC, Godrej Tyson, etc;  were quick to capitalize on this opportunity with their range of instant foods. However, most of them lacked one element- non-vegetarian foods.

However, non-veg lovers need not worry any further, for this gap has now been filled by Hyderabad based start-up, “The Taste Company”.

”The ideation of The Company is simple but revolutionary. It’s al home-style cooked instant food brand, a food which has already been cooked with no further preparation required. Their food is produced with the help of state-of-the-art and high-end set mechanism and freeze-drying process, which is ultra-hygienic and rich in nutrients, tenderness, texture, and essence”.

The company boasts a delectable range of delicacies, including items like Mughlai Chicken Rice, Palak Chicken Rice, and Exotic Prawn Rice. They also have a breakfast range consisting of Rava Upma, Pongal, and Semiya Upma. Not to leave the vegetarians behind, they also have items such as Dal Rice and Vegetable Curry Rice.

The Taste Company takes utmost care towards ensuring that each pack of instant food they manufacture comes with pure goodness and to that end, they do not use any sort of additive or artificial substances in their eatables. They also only use naturally grown, antibiotic-free, Halal certified chicken and handpicked spices to ensure the best quality food for their consumers.

To add to that, TTC uses eco-friendly, paper made packaging that is incredibly safe to travel with. Each pack comes with a shelf life of 6 months under room temperature.

The year-old start-up has been founded by Raju Vanapala, who also founded the world’s largest online peer-to-peer messaging platform Way2SMS and invented India’s first & largest short format news application base platform ‘Way2News’ that runs in 9 Indian native vernaculars along with English.

The company was founded keeping in mind the results of a survey that showed that 71% of the Indian population preferred non-vegetarian food.

According to The Economic Times, the start-up, which has successfully positioned itself as the first Indian instant non-vegetarian meal producer, will dilute a minority stake of around 20%, valuing the enterprise at $60-75 million.

The company’s aim is driven to enhance the quality of life through better food habits thus, contributing to a healthier future. Our core value system is driven by our commitment to excellence in the instant food segment.

the Hyderabad-based start-up is aiming to capture a significant share of the Rs 10,000-crore ready-to-eat food market in India, which is currently dominated by noodles and oats.

With a modern production facility on Hyderabad’s outskirts consisting of two-million units a month of installed capacity, The Taste Company has partnered with southern India-based airlines and several corporates, co-working spaces, multiplex chains, and coffee chains to provide the on-the-go Indian ready-to-eat meal.

The Taste Company has now made a presence on e-commerce websites Amazon and Flipkart, and hopes to dominate the offline instant food market soon.
