There is an increasing pressure to reduce healthcare costs globally, emerging markets particularly India is gaining further prominence with its scientific and tech talent pool, contract research and manufacturing activities, process reengineering and innovative R&D capabilities serving as key enablers. Under this backdrop, the 13th BioAsia 2016 had its focus on connecting the dots to build stakeholder consensus and draw distinct roadmap.

This year’s BioAsia aims to be bigger and better than last year. The theme of this year is life science – it has been observed that the growth in the sector has been driven by significant investments and initiatives by both the public and the private sector. Given the multifaceted advantages across the Life Sciences value chain (R&D, Manufacturing and Commercial) supported by emerging regulatory environment, India has finally emerged.

Now is the time for both local and global stakeholders to act together and leverage power of India to provide access to quality healthcare products to billions of people around the world. With this context, the 14th edition of BioAsia will discuss the foundation and initiatives required to achieve this glorious future.

The BioAsia Conferences 2017

As part of the event, BioAsia organizes conferences The tech conferences have been carefully structured in order to leverage technology trends for business relationships and help you put technology in the development relay across the world through co-development opportunities. Awards

For all participants, there are 3 award categories –

#1: Genome Valley Excellence Award

“Genome Valley Excellence Award” was introduced to recognize and honour eminent individuals and organizations for their exceptional contribution to Lifesciences Research & Industry. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had instituted the “Genome Valley Excellence Award” during its first BioAsia 2004 and being continued in every edition of BioAsia.

#2: FABA Special Award

Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) is a nonprofit society, which represents 20 Asian countries with a common interest in promoting human health through advances in Biotechnology. FABA, with its humble beginning in 2004, has achieved a significant landmark in creating a platform for interaction among member countries and discuss the issues of common interest for improving the biotech space including technology transfer, resource sharing, business collaborations, Industry-Academia linkage, cross border trade and investments, etc. among its member countries.

#3: BioAsia Innovation Award

BioAsia Innovation Award was introduced to recognize Young Scientists / Students (below the age of 35 years) pursuing their research in any of the areas of biotechnology / lifesciences, and who have created a product or process of applied value or for utility in the welfare of human society.
