Troppo: The First Party Music App

troppoBe it a road trip with friends or a house party, the one thing that makes them fun and lively is music.  With everyone’s choice of music being so varied, everyone wants their favourite songs to be played and any happening party can get quite boring if the music is not right.

And selecting one song after another each time makes me wonder if we came to a party or to handle music!

With everything on the ‘internet’, I have always dreamt of an app where we could each add our songs to a common playlist and personalize our music environment, wherever we are! I recently came across this Hyderabad based music app, Troppo, which is the solution to all party music woes.

The founder Vimal says, “Troppo is the first party music app that blurs the lines between the songs you have on your device, on your friend’s devices and what’s on the internet. Listen to any song wherever it is. Add it to a playlist or share it with others, just like you would a song from your own collection.”

By using Troppo, you can play the music that’s on your phone, on your friend’s phone, or on the cloud seamlessly. With Troppo, your music is no longer limited to the songs on your device. It changes and morphs based on the friends you meet and the places you visit. How cool can it get?

The app allows you to not only search for songs, albums and artists on the internet but also makes curated recommendations based on your collection and your friend’s collections (this is available only for English music). Troppo supports playing from both Soundcloud and Youtube and also allows the users to share songs and playlists with friends via WhatsApp, Facebook and SMS. The best thing about the app is its user friendly interface where every action is JUST A SWIPE!!

To use the party app feature, one has to simply open the app, host a party. Give your party a name and your friends will be able to join it once they are on the same Wi-Fi network. Each party user can add their songs to the common playlist. You can also vote for the songs and see the play queue change live. In short – it’s more than a simple Jukebox app.

The party can be hosted on either the Wi-Fi or mobile network and guests can also join the party using any of those options. When the guest join from same Wi-Fi as the host, the host streams the guest’s MP3 to be played on the host. While you do this, your mobile becomes a chrome cast device to which everyone can cast content. The app arranges play queue automatically to suite the likes of the crowd. In addition, the guests can request/vote songs into the play queue.

Troppo currently has over 45000+ users with most of their users from India, US and a few South American countries.

You can download the app on your Android or iOS device. When you download the app, after giving a name it will give you 7 tips to use the app in a smarter way. With a jukebox app like this, party music will never be the same again. Download Troppo, queue up your favourite songs, artists and be the best DJ in town.
