Jump Start Social Enterprise Accelerator Program(JSE)

The Indian School of Business (ISB) together with SAP Labs is rolling out its 2^nd cohort of the Jump Start Social Enterprise Accelerator Program,  to promote the importance of “leveraging technology for creating social impact”  by promising start-ups in India.

Unleashing the energies of people to transform the world in which they live. We call those people Social Entrepreneurs. Social entrepreneurs are not content just to give a fish or teach how to fish. They will not rest until they have revolutionized the fishing industry.

Social enterprise applies an entrepreneurial approach to addressing social issues and creating positive community change. It is a business that uses entrepreneurial methods to accomplish social goals and/or feed profits to a parent charity or non-profit to enable it to fulfil more of its own social mission. On the whole it is way different from charity or public and private sectors.

Unfortunately very few people tend to start a social enterprise and even among the few there is a set back at the early stages of their journey as they lack the proper guidance or pathway to breakthrough. To support and encourage those social enterprises which focus on core development in different sectors ISB together with SAP Labs is launching “Jump Start Social Enterprise Program ” (JSE)

JSE targets start-ups developing disruptive technologies to create social impact in diverse sectors (for instance in sectors such as education, healthcare, water & sanitation, energy, agriculture, financial technology, infrastructure, livelihoods and many others).

The aim is to support 10 early stage and 5 growth stage social start-ups through customized series of interventions in order to bring about a large scale impact in the livelihoods of people by scaling up their technology solutions.

Eligibility: Early stage startups with more than 12 months in operation leveraging technology as a core product or service.

Benefits : Shortlisted finalists would be invited for a business plan pitch and interview by a panel consisting of business experts, investors, ISB faculty & SAP team.

1.Team and Organisational Structure

2.Innovation

3.Social Impact

4.Scalability

5.Early stage operations.
