Greenko- Innovation in the Indian power industry

It’s time to adopt some green power as a part of our life, before we force our future generations to buy fresh air!!

Our world today is effected with extreme weather conditions, because of carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere, which traps the heat, leading to rising in global temperatures which results into huge disasters like melting of glaciers thereby, the Arctic Ocean gets warm.
Thus to get over from this, a speedy recovery is necessary with smarter and greener technologies by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, this includes transforming the electricity generation through a renewable source of energy by wind, solar light, and renewable hydro source, where innovations are made to produce the clean energy.
There are many benefits from these renewable sources but do you think it is practically possible because solar energy is generated only when the sun shines, wind turbines produce power only when the wind blows, and hydro plants are dependent on river flow.

Gigantic renewable solar power park called Greenko group located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh generates power 24/7, where solar plants are operated during the day, to meet these targets. While the wind turbines function during the night, then hydro plants produce the energy generation during summer and rainy seasons.

It is the world’s largest solar park with 1000mega watts of power in single place of 5000acres of land and 7000 crores of investment which is the operator of renewable energy projects of 3 gigawatts with solar, wind, hydro domains spread across the country. It is also the first solar park connected to the national grid.
It has solar panels which are made up of photovoltaics. When the electrons of this material exposed to the energy contained in the sunlight, then they generate high energy which creates electricity generation. It has a control room which continually tracks the data of power generated through solar, wind and hydro systems which helps the company to know the performance of the plant and make them take quick decisions.
Our prime minister Narendra Modi in 2015 at the United Nations Climate Change conference held in Paris, mentioned that by 2030 carbon dioxide emissions are reduced to 30%, and 40% of power is from nonfossil fuels. The target set was 60,000 megawatts of renewable energy generation by 2020. Of which the Greenko solar park meets 5% of the target till 2020.
Greenko with the ray of hope bought many benefits for semi-skilled people and the diploma holders by providing training and employment opportunities where they can set up solar power plants.

We can say that the Kurnool Greenko solar park is the significant milestone in the journey towards accelerating the clean energy revolution by reducing the power generation by the fossil fuels. Like coal, natural gas, and oil which are very costly resources imported to our country, instead we can generate power from renewable sources as solar power tariff also reduced.
