Riya Khattar, a young, stylish entrepreneur who is 23 yrs old from New Delhi has come up with the idea “Heart up my sleeves”, which deals with “detachable statement sleeves” that are Unique, sustainable, and reusable. The main idea was to style a single pair of sleeves with multiple outfits and to increase the beauty quotient of women with detachable products.
Her aim is to create a Stunning combination and exotic look with One Product to multiple outfits. Isn’t that a lifesaver to all the women out there? Exactly, Riya being from a Fashion background has focused on such a unique product that absolutely has no competitors in the market. Adding to this she says she has this first-mover advantage in the market. Adding to their product range, they have recently launched their range for men called #MenInSleeves, which is something to look out for!
Bootstrapped To A Shark Deal
She initially invested 10k on samples when she first started her business 9 months ago. However, choosing social media as a platform she started publishing them on Instagram and even sold it to many influencers which created a great hike in sales due to organic marketing. “Celebrities like Hansika Motwani and Neha Kakkar were one of her clients during this process”, says, Riya. In the last 9 months, she has dispatched over 1003 orders and the sales amounted to INR 11.5 lakhs respectively. She even started selling her products through Nykaa in Nov 2021.
In the next 5 years, she has planned to focus on making roses, cape designs, and detachable collars for her customers. However, she was at SharkTank pitching her idea for a 25 lakhs investment for a 10 percent equity. Even though few Sharks stepped back at her idea, Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal have come forward and offered her 25 lakhs for 30 % equity respectively.
