EYVA: The new kind of glucometer.

The Hyderabad- based company BlueSemi has recently emerged with a new and non-invasive glucometer called Eyva. The CEO of this health-tech start-up, Sunil Maddikatala who is a post-graduate from IIIT-Hyderabad has been working on it for over four years to develop an economical product that is connected with nature. This health tech gadget when placed on the surface of our skin has the capability of taking six biometric readings like blood glucose, ECG, temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, and SpO2 for blood oxygen within just 60 seconds and is largely made for those who are currently diabetic or suffer from any other lifestyle disorders above the age group of 25 up to 70 respectively.

Sunil states that the design elements of eyva resembles Mercedes Vision AVTR car while the sensors on the surface of it make Eyva come to life!

The main idea behind Eyva was to develop easy usability and affordable product for the consumers and It took approximately 2 years to put the device and the app together for Sunil and the team. He claims that the app has been inspired by the movie Avatar and that it suggests users perform simple tasks like having more water in their diet, a quick 20-minute brisk walk, or even a good night’s rest whenever required according to the values gathered in the glucometer. The BlueSemi successfully got seed funded and recently received an investment of $69 million dollars from a New York-based investment fund!
