Donatekart Founders Make It To 30 Under 30 Forbes List
2 years ago Rituka MAiming to bring social change, Hyderabad-based Donatekart is set to redefine the digital giving experience. Bagging the coveted spot on 2022 30 Under 30 Forbes List, the founders of Donatekart have set the ball running in achieving greater heights.
Donate Tangibly – A Unique Proposition
Donatekart is a social enterprise that allows citizens to donate supplies instead of money to charities. Founded in 2016 by Anil Kumar Reddy, Sarang Bobade, and Sandeep Sharma, this organization is headquartered in Hyderabad. Acting as an online crowdsourcing platform, Donatekart assists NGOs in setting up campaigns and collecting required items directly.
Donatekart is incubated by Zone Startups India, an accelerator program run by Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai, and T-Hub, Hyderabad. Moreover, this Hyderabad-based social enterprise has been awarded NASSCOM Social Innovation Award 2018 by K. T. Rama Rao, Minister for Information Technology, during the 2019 World Conference on Information Technology.
The aim of insisting on a tangible donation that is needed by the organizations or charities is to ensure transparency. Donatekart procures the required products and delivers them directly to the NGOs doorstep.
During the pandemic, the already adverse hunger crisis in India worsened exponentially, pushing millions towards food insecurity and loss of livelihood. To alleviate this crisis to the best of their competency, Donatekart has been working in tandem with over 50 NGOs across the country. Tying up with various organizations like Seva Kitchen,
Khaana Chahiye Foundation, Humanity First Foundation, and Vishalakshi Foundation, Donatakart has successfully delivered over 10 lakhs of grocery and food kits to the ones in need.
Bringing Social Change, One Step At A Time
In January 2022, Donatekart joined hands with Mzaalo, a blockchain-based gamified video streaming platform. Through this collaboration, Mzaalo users can watch premium content and earn reward coins without any subscription fees. Consequently, the users can redeem these coins for Donatekart vouchers, thereby gratifying the time and attention of the users. This will increase the reach and impact of the social initiative as the time spent on the platform can become a positive outcome for the needy.
Speaking on the collaboration, Anil Kumar Reddy, CEO & co-founder, Donatekart said; “Since we’re a tech for good company, we’re constantly thinking about innovative ways in which we can use technology for social good. Our partnership with Mzaalo will allow users to make a difference just by watching content on the platform.”
Meanwhile, Donatekart partnered with over 70 corporates and startups to raise donations for pandemic victims and communities like daily wagers. To engage stakeholders, they designed a variety of models for OTT, FMCG, Hyperlocal delivery, D2C, e-commerce platforms, social, and other consumer-facing brands. As a result, over 1.6 crore worth of products were donated. Brands saw an increase in engagement as well as an appreciation for unwavering commitment to their values.
