Schoolnet India acqui-hires Hyderabad-based startup NextSteps AI.

Hyderabad-based AI startup NextSteps AI has been acqui-hired by Noida-based education technology (edtech) company Schoolnet India. In this acquisition, Schoolnet will acquire 15 employees from NextSteps AI.

Acquiring Talent Through An Acqui-Hire Deal

Leading Edtech startup Schoolnet India has acqui-hired AI Startup NextSteps AI Ltd on 11th February 2022. Acqui-hiring means an acquisition made that aims at acquiring the talent in the target company. As a part of this acquisition, Schoolnet will get 15 employees with niche skills. Schoolnet has about 300 employees and has not raised any funds yet.

In addition, RCM Reddy, CEO & MD, Schoolnet said, “With this transition, we would be able to work as ‘one team’. Developing a cutting edge and differentiated product of Geneo will help in realizing our dream of building a sustainable digital business, integrating profit with purpose.”

NextSteps, since its launch in 2016 has been working with Schoolnet. Their joint skill exchange platform has evolved into Temasek-backed joint venture Good Workers in 2020.
