SNIST, Hyderabad To Launch an LEO Satellite!

Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) partners with Hyderabad-based Dhruva Space to establish a standalone space technology center to design and launch its first-ever Lower Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite. SNIST launched SREESAT-1, a balloon Cubesat in 2019 from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TFIR) Center in Hyderabad. In addition to that, this proposed Cubesat – SREESAT (A 0.5 U) is aimed to launch by end of 2022.
Aiming to create a center specifically focusing on innovative product development and entrepreneurship in the space sector. To forget a path towards self-reliance in the space sector, SNIST’s Space Tech Center intends to build and instill entrepreneurship abilities in students to solve problems and work towards creating a sustainable future.
Emphasizing the importance of studying space science and developing customized payloads, the Center will build these skills in the students. Moreover, it will also allow students the opportunity to work on projects by applying hyperspectral imaging techniques. The fields relating to agriculture, natural calamity prediction, water resource monitoring, deforestation, container movement can see this technology soon.
Dhruva Space
Dhruva Space aspires to take a LEAP (LAUNCHING EXPEDITIONS FOR ASPIRING PAYLOADS) toward building full-stack space engineering solutions. This Hyderabad & Austria-based startup is a National Award-winning space tech startup. Further, their core aim is to application-agnostic satellite platforms. Their offerings include satellites with Earth stations and launch services. Companies can either opt for the integrated solution or just the technology solution to power their Space-based applications on Earth & beyond. Sanjay Nekkanti is the CEO & Founder of Dhruva Space which started in 2012.
