About the startup:

Froto is a mobile application that allows you to upload images from social media, your device gallery or use the cameras on their phones & tablets to send the startup images that you wish to get printed. The app tells you how many images you can send in every month, and then they print, ship & deliver them right to your doorstep at no extra cost.

Subhra Dey is the founder of this amazing startup. When he got married to his high school girlfriend after 9 years of being together, they wanted a way to capture and preserve all the images and memories that they had over time – Old friends, forgotten road trips, their young selves. They wanted a way to re-live that. After weeks of searching, they narrowed it down, put some prints up on their living room wall and wondered why one would ever stop printing photos, stopped capturing lovely memories? Maybe, if it were convenient and affordable, more and more people would do it. That was the Eureka Moment and that’s when Froto was born.

“We all live a fast-paced life, where everything from our interactions with each other, to our belongings are shifting to a virtual platform. As a part of this ever-evolving tech age, photographs have moved from the walls of our home & our photo albums to our hard drives & our cloud storages. We are also part of a generation that take more photos on a day to day basis than ever before.” Says the proud co –founder.

How does the service work?

All you have to do is upload the photos you wish to get printed and the team will take care of the rest. It’s Memories, Every Month, Forever! Your shipping info is saved so that you don’t have to type it in every time. All the prints are sized 4″x 6″ and are printed using professional photo printers on high quality UV coated glossy paper.

Crowd Funding Details:

This wonderful early stage startup is inviting crowd funding for the startup to grow its operations and team. At this time, the equipment is limited to a small printer and a team of 2. With crowd funding, they will purchase proper equipment to print images to the best quality, streamline and add new features to the mobile app, hire a few developers and finally, a majority of funds would go towards marketing and promoting Froto. It will also be used to build the team and hire sales people who would help in a big way to tie up with advertisers and businesses to allow free prints. Till date, they have been able to raise $790 USD from 23 backers.
