The National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) defines business incubators as “a catalyst tool for either regional or national economic developmentâ€ÂÂ. Incubators vary based on their strategies. Few incubators are located in a physical space with the motto of fostering networking amongst entrepreneurs and their mentors. Few others operate on a virtual basis and mentor and provide services accordingly. Incubators sometimes call themselves accelerators instead, often when they’re geared toward jumpstarting businesses that are more developed.

#1: Centre for Technology Business Incubator (BITS Pilani)
Focus Area: VLSI Designs and Embedded Systems
Overview: BITS has set up a Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) to give a specific boost and emphasis to entrepreneurship development. TBI jointly with CEL shall promote entrepreneurial leadership across all disciplines, facilitate entrepreneurial activity amongst students, and invite entrepreneurs to use TBI services so as to develop end products for commercialization.

#2: International Institute of Information Hyderabad (IIIT)- Foundation
Focus Area: Computer Vision, Natural Languages, Speech Recognition and ARNR and Gaming Domain
