HYSEA announces HyderabadHackers.in alliance to promote product engineering skills in Hyderabad

Hyderabad October 14, 2014: HYSEA, The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association, today announced the launch of HyderabadHackers.in alliance. HyderabadHackers.in will be an alliance of multiple groups and organizations coming together to create a series of technical hackathons in colleges and for young professionals. The objective of the initiative is to create awareness and interest among students for product/technology programming which is needed for the creation of solutions and products.

Under the aegis of HYSEA, the various groups under the Hyderabadhackers.in alliance include devthon.org (by PiSutra), IdeaThon (Uptec Idealabs),HYSEA Startup Weekend, HackMania (by Hyderabad Entrepreneurship society), Gaming Hackathons (by Start-Up Hyderabad), AngelHack, fests.info, Null Hyderabad, Coding Saturdays & Edukinect.

The first set of hackathons will be organised as a part of Computer Society of India’s (CSI) Golden Jubilee event to be held in December 2014. On a single weekend (December 4-5), HyderabadHackers.in will organize hackathon in over 25 different colleges in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The winners of these college hackathons will be invited to a breakfast event with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India. Top teams from this stage will be invited to further work on their ideas at IIIT-Hyderabad on December 11 & 12, 2014 with facilitators and experts, who will help in shaping their prototypes into products that can be commercialised into the market.

The participants from various disciplines will come together to work on a range of problem statements aimed at creating technologies that pave way for innovations in themes chosen for each hackathon. Continuing with the recently held ‘SMART CITIES IoT (Internet of Things) Devthon’ for Metropolis World Congress, the 1st 25-college event will target creating ideas and solutions for Smart Cities.

Announcing the Hackathon, Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, President – HYSEA and Managing Director – Progress Software said, “The objective of this 1st of its kind initiative of bringing together the top hackathon organizers is to significantly amplify interest and awareness for product & technology engineering and creative problem solving. These will enable the participants to hone the skills needed for startups and R&D companies”. This initiative will help to create a specific and niche talent, to further strengthen Hyderabad’s positioning as a leading destination for startups and R&D companies.

The series of hackathons will culminate in a grand annual event, HyderabadHackers Fest in May 2014. Which will include startup hiring, startup internships and startup seeding events for those that attended hackathons. And a full day of celebrating hackers and technologists/CTOs from very successful startups and technology companies.
