Marut Drones’ AG 365 Receives DGCA Approval
1 year ago Rituka MThe Hyderabad-based startup, Marut Drones is the brainchild of three IIT graduates – Prem Kumar Vislawath, Sai Kumar Chintala, and Suraj Peddi. In October, during the PM Kisan Sammelan, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare at IARI Mela Ground, Pusa, New Delhi, Marut Drones demonstrated its Agri Multiutility drone platform AG 365. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi took a walkthrough of their exhibit and appreciated their ingenuity to promote agriculture.
Marut Drones – An innovative future for Agriculture
Hyderabad-based drone manufacturer Marut Drones gets Type Certification approvals from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for their multi-utility agricultural drone AG 365. This drone is extensively tested and robustly designed for Indian conditions. The drone is multi-purpose leading to a higher ROI for the user. To optimize agricultural performance, AG 365 has been extensively tested for over 1.5 L acres. Additionally, the development of crop-specific drone spraying SOPs in collaboration with prestigious agriculture universities and research institutes has been done.
The design for the Kisan drone – AG 365 is primarily for agricultural purposes; to reduce crop loss, lower agrochemical usage, and increase yield and profits for the farmers. With the DGCA accord and type certificate, the drone is now eligible for Rs 10 lakh unsecured loans from the Agri Infrastructure Fund. This loan will be at a minimal 5-6 percent interest. Further, the Government of India will be providing a 50-100% subsidy. In addition, Marut Drones has been accorded RPTO approvals under Rule 34 of the Drone Rules 2021. This enables training and capacity building of drone pilots focusing on agricultural operations, repair, and maintenance.
Marut believes in infusing the right science into agriculture working with more than five prestigious Agri Universities including PJTSAU and ICRISAT to bring new technological advancements to the field of agriculture.
In the future, Marut Drones aims to tie up with major agriculture universities to enable drone pilots with the highest quality training. Apart from that, they also aim to develop 2L drone entrepreneurs in the countryside.
Bytes on Marut’s DGCA Approval
Marut Drones Founder, Mr. Prem Kumar Vislawath, said, “Marut Drones has been taking steps in line with its vision of Advancing Agriculture. Manual spraying in agriculture has caused huge negative health impacts on operators. And a mindless repetition of these sprays is inhumane exposing the operator to chemicals and leading to cancers. With both type certification and RPTO approvals by DGCA, the drone can easily accomplish manual inhumane operations, making it safe for the operator. This also creates new job opportunities in rural areas. A drone entrepreneur using this drone can earn anywhere between Rs.40000 to Rs.90000 enabling him to work in the comfort of his home making a positive impact on farmersâ€ÂÂ.
Marut Drones Cofounder Suraj Peddi says, “ Currently, all the drones in the market are for a single purpose, like spraying pesticides in the farms. Understanding the ground reality of farmers, for better ROI and product experience we have built the first multi-purpose drone. Our AG 365 is similar to tractors; one can do more than spraying by changing the attachment. This will give better ROI to the user. The drone can be useful across the year for different purposes in agriculture”.
