India is the second largest producer of tea in the world and is the most consumed beverage after water in the world. 60-70% of Tea consumed by India from 1240 Million KG of Tea produced yearly and leaving behind nearly 400-500 Million KG tea powder waste in the open environment. Despite being a biodegradable waste, it puts tremendous pressure during its natural decomposition, especially in a given condition of it’s mixing in other household waste.

Mellow Moments Annovation is a Hyderabad based startup founded by Mr. Ajit Kumar. Ajit selected in a cohort of 24 entrepreneurs for the SLP Hyderabad Chapter since October 2018. The company focuses on Innovative Beverage Technology to revolutionize tea consumption habits and to develop zero wastage instant liquid tea. Every year India nearly dumps 500 MT of de-caffeinated tea waste after tea consumption. They aim to sell instant liquid tea to the consumers and convert the remaining de-caffeinated tea waste into green compost & other value-added products.

The process allows the company to encourage the urban dwellers, kitchen and terrace gardeners by supplying the quality & natural inputs for plant growth and reduces the overall carbon footprint. Inspired by the passion of tea lovers, they figured out the way to provide a better quality instant tea formulation without compromising on the environment which is better in taste & waste management. The team is working hard to bring this fantastic instant tea which will thrill your taste buds in every single sip.

Tea waste contains a natural plant growth regulator, N‐triacontanol, beneficial for the seedlings, plants growth and development.  And that’s precisely what Mellow Moments Annovation offers. The company aims to create wealth out of waste as well as to reduce the carbon content by managing the environmental tea waste load and is passionately working towards developing instant liquid tea with innovative IP protected technology. The startup is bootstrapped & developing the basic product prototype through Lab Research and expecting to get into Pilot Testing in the next 6-8 months.
