Startup Cricket LeagueOn Saturday, the 5th of December, startup founders and investors in Hyderabad chose a different kind of pitch to meet at – the cricket pitch. They ditched their decks and proposals and bonded over bats and wickets at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium .

The Startup Cricket League was a first of its kind sporting event for startups in the country. The event witnessed participation from 16 startup teams, investors and other prominent personalities like IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Ramana Gogula, Meghana Gundlapally, a rhythmic gymnast from India  and several others.

Quoting Ramesh Loganathan,  “With the very unique Startup Cricket League, the Hyderabad startup ecosystem yet again showcased the prevailing vibrancy and enthusiasm. An extremely networked ecosystem that very positively amplifies all enablement, & support, rapidly making HYD the eBay place for early stage startups. #ItStartsHere! 🙂 ”

TinMen, Aasan Pay, My Dream Store, Zippr, PurpleTalk along with 10 other startup teams battled at the league.

PurpleTalk , captained by Mahesh Korada were the winners of the Startup Cricket League. Mahesh also scored the maximum runs (140+) in the series. Apart from the games, the event was also a welcome opportunity to acquaint ourselves with other startups on the block. Informative discussions, exchange of knowledge and an air of sporting spirit prevailed, making the occasion truly remarkable. I would like to thank the organizers for the opportunity and their hard work in putting the event together. We hope to participate, and make our mark in more such events in future.”
