Hyderabad-based Vaave, a leading alumni networking platform, has secured ₹6.6 crore in funding to accelerate its mission of helping institutions and enterprises tap into the transformative power of their alumni communities. The investment round was led by The Chennai Angels, with participation from HDFC Capital, Vikrant Varshney (SucSEED Indovation), and other strategic angels.
This funding comes as a major validation of Vaave’s vision — to make alumni a strategic asset for educational institutions, enterprises, and nonprofits. The company aims to unlock “Alumni Capital” in all its forms — financial contributions, mentoring, hiring, collaboration, and evangelism.
Founded by Deepak Sekar and Vasudha Deepak, Vaave is a full-stack platform that powers alumni portals for top universities, schools, corporates, and government bodies across India and globally. From enabling end-to-end alumni engagement and fundraising to building brand advocacy and community-led growth, Vaave’s tools are designed to create lasting value.

The latest round of capital will be used to:
- Expand into international markets
- Deepen product innovation around alumni engagement analytics and automation
- Onboard more institutions, corporates, and nonprofits onto the Vaave ecosystem
Deepak Sekar, Co-founder & CEO, stated:
“We believe alumni are an untapped goldmine. Our vision is to help every institution and enterprise harness the power of their alumni — not just for fundraising, but for mentorship, hiring, brand building, and business growth.”
Vaave has already powered alumni networks for over 500 institutions and played a pivotal role in major fundraising campaigns, alumni reunions, job boards, and global community events. With this new infusion of capital, the company is poised to scale operations and product capabilities, making it the go-to platform for structured alumni management.
The startup was incubated at T-Hub, CIE IIIT-Hyderabad, and TU Incubation Center, and is now backed by a solid network of ecosystem enablers, including The Chennai Angels, HDFC Capital, and startup mentors across the country.
As the demand for community-led growth, decentralized engagement, and trusted brand networks continues to rise — especially in the education and corporate learning space — Vaave is uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of alumni-powered innovation.
