BITS Pilani Conquest : Building India’s First Student Run Startup Launchpad

The 13th edition of Conquest: BITS Pilani’s International Startup Challenge received over 1000 startup applications, penetrating over 100 cities across India. It was concluded with a Grand Finale, held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, which witnessed the Top 10 startups pitching to prominent investors from over 15 Investment firms like Blume Ventures, Lightspeed Ventures, Accel Partners and other well-renowned personalities from Google, NASSCOM, IBM and likewise.

The conquest is aimed at constantly reinventing themselves in the pursuit of creating unique value in the startup ecosystem and have committed to a transition to building India’s First Student-Run Startup Launchpad. The next edition of Conquest would feature a 6-week Startup Acceleration Program for our Top 10 startups preceded by multi-city mentoring sessions and to be concluded by a Grand Finale to be hosted in Bangalore.

In the past, Conquest has been featured by top media houses like CNBC, Economic Times, Times of India, and many more. We have also been associated with the likes of Kairos, Headstart, and Techstars, to create maximum value for our startups leading to multiple success stories.

BITS Pilani has today discernibly become a well renowned educational institution, across the globe. One of the premier colleges to boast of presence in more than one country, BITS Pilani currently stands tall with prime focus on imparting research-based and innovation centric education to students. With BITSian alumni startups like Redbus ,Grey Orange , Zivame and Gharpay have risen and made dents in the Indian startup ecosystem. In association with Government of India, the institution has also established the Technology Business Incubator(TBI), to further nurture emerging ventures.

Conquest is an International Startup Conclave organized by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, BITS Pilani. Conquest provides an exemplary platform for young startups to come to the fore and grow.

This year the conquest plans to hold six-week long summer mentorship program with weekly mentoring sessions for the top 10 startups of the conquest in Bangalore followed by a Grand Finale at the end of July.
