4 years ago Tata TejaThis a new initiative from the Parampara Family Business Institute (PFBI), non-profit research and educational institute under the charitable arm of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), which aims to support family businesses in their sustainability and perpetuity endeavors through the distribution of educational content on relevant topics. Given that approximately 70% of businesses in India are family-managed, we believe that family businesses are the cornerstone of India’s economy.
Over the next few months, PFBI is introducing a series of online talks titled “Essential Mantras for Family Businessâ€ÂÂ.
INTRODUCING #PFBI_MANTRA ONLINE SYMPOSIUM
During this period of economic duress and social ambiguity, PFBI would like to present to family businesses and those closely associated to the ecosystem with a series of online discussions by international experts in critical areas pertinent to the audience.
PURPOSE OF THE SYMPOSIUM
This online symposium is being curated as a platform to share and explore the latest know-how that leverage the best from business experts and family advisors.
Starting mid-July, we have lined up the following 4 speakers, with plans for more such sessions underway:
Session 1: Dennis Jaffe – The Wisdom of 100-Year Family Enterprises: 18th July 2020 (7 PM to 8 PM IST)
For over 40 years, Denis Jaffe has been one of the leading architects of the field of family enterprise consulting. He is a clinical psychologist and an organizational consultant and helps multi-generational families to develop governance practices that build the capability of next-generation leadership.
Session 2: Rachel Atkins & David Emison – Reputation – You Can’t Manage What You Don’t Know: 25th July 2020 (6 PM to 7 PM IST)
Rachel is a specialist in safeguarding reputations of prominent individuals and businesses. She couples her experience in media law with a detailed knowledge of reputation threats that emanate from non-media sources.
David Emison is a reputation and privacy risk advisor. David’s role is to help clients navigate the risks stemming from disputes, controversies, and crisis. He is a certified member of the Institute of Risk Managers and a Certified Information Security Systems Professionals.
Session 3: Ross Ellenhorn – How We Change: 1st August 2020 (6 PM to 7 PM IST)
Ross is a pioneer and leader in the development and promotion of community integration services, types of care that serve and empower individuals diagnosed with psychiatric and/or addiction issues. He has authored two books on human behavior, the recent one being, How We Change.
Session 4: Ivan Lansberg – The Challenge for Successors – Managers or Entrepreneurs: 8th August 2020 (5 PM to 6 PM IST)
Ivan is one for the founders of the Family Firm Institute (FFI). He has made significant contributions to the understanding of family business governance and succession and is a frequent speaker at family business programs organized by the university and industry groups.
