This optimization is very important and involves lots of strategic thinking behind it – how to place, what to place, why to place, till when to place? These are the important questions one has to answer while trying to reach retail optimization.
AB InBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company with global headquarters in Leuven, Belgium who has to work with the strategic team in and out for retail optimization. This company is all set to organize a hackathon challenge based on this theme. The challenge is using the images and data provided, the participants have to create a hack that depicts the best solution for ABInBev to gain better insights into the effectiveness of their investment toward driving sales.
Hack The World is Anheuser-Busch InBev’s commitment to connecting with the most talented minds across the globe when it comes to creation, technology, and innovation. Hack The World aims to identify the most innovative solutions to major business challenges leveraging new technology, as well as helping students, creators, and entrepreneurs achieve their dreams and career aspirations through an extended working relationship with the world’s largest beer manufacturer.
This event is lined up to happen across the globe. The challenge has already begun in Illinois in September 2016 and is continuing to travel the world. It is happening in India in the city of Bangalore in February 2017.

The event organizers will provide images of products in stores to help showcase the real life scenarios of consumer trade promotional pricing.
In addition, they will provide datasets in excel or csv form that will contain a variety of other variables. These may include CPI, GDP growth, product distribution, marketing spend, trade promotion spend, temperature, and more as well as sales volumes.
