Hyderabad became LEAN!!
10 years ago Ravi KorukondaHyderabad became LEAN!! Post Workshop Press Release by LeanStartup Machine Hyderabad Chapter.
Hyderabad was proud to witness the worlds largest startup workshop called Lean Startup Machine. This is based on the most popular lean methodologies proposed by Eric Ries and is a 3 day schedule where participants not only get to learn how to quickly build their startup but also experience it in real time by talking to real customers to validate on what they plan to build.
Lean Startup Machine in short LSM is not about building MVP or a hackathon but is a pure workshop where every participant gets to learn what lean methodologies are and also how to implement them in their startups. With over 80 participants, LSM Hyderabad stood out to be the leading lean workshops in the world.
Participants pitched 35 ideas on day 1 and with a simple voting process 14 of them got selected and teams of 5ÂÂÂ6 people were formed. Natwar Maheshwari from Lean Mantra talked about the basics of LSM and also Lean Methodologies after which the day was called. Day 2 witnessed 90% partnership where more than 10 mentors from Hyderabad who are practicing lean in their startups were present and gave valuable insights to each team. First task of the participants was to get out of the building and talk to potential customers and validate/invalidate their idea. With InOrbit Mall being just opposite to Progress Software where the event was happening, it was easy to get to talk to people very quickly. Some participants went all over to a Golf Course just to talk to golfers who were their only customers. Pivots, changes in plans, insights and all lead to another session of getting out and now collecting snapshots of currency from people who were willing to buy their products.
Day 2 also witnessed an amazing and insightful session by Arpit Mohan of GharPay which recently got acquired. Arpit shared minute details of how they built their startup, faked some ideas, changed directions multiple times and became successful. The last day was crucial as participants had to showcase their learning from what they have been doing for the past two days. They split into groups here a few worked on their Javelin Boards and others were out there for another round of validation through real customers. Just before presentations, Siddharth Shankar, GM of Uber spent about an hour to share how Uber got into Indian Market and answered all the queries from the participants. Uber is supposedly coming up with quite a few surprises in the near future is a gist of it.
Mentors at Lean Startup Machine Hyderabad included Ramesh Loganathan, S. Vijay Venkatesh, Venkata Sashank, Hasan Ali Khan, ,Ram Nukkati, Ravi Korukonda, Ravi Devulapally, Murali Bukkapatnam, Srinivas Kollipara,Santosh Yellajosula, Hemanth Satyanarayana and others. 10000 startups also announced $500 credits for all participants and TiE Hyderabad chose two top teams along with the number one team which showcased the best learning from LSM Hyderabad.
LSM Team extends a warm thanks to Progress Software, Great Britain, zippr, uber, Nasscom, triegg, TiE Hyderabad, Wow Labz, Team Pumpkin for their support and help with the event. Great Britain organized an amazing after party at Avasa for all the participants where the top teams were announced. With such a good response from everyone LSM Hyderabad team is looking to take this forward by creating an active community and help each others said the organizers.
Here is some of the feedback from Lean Startup Machine Hyderabad by the attendees
