A 5-star dish, just 5 steps away

India is getting a better place to live each day, thanks to these amazing entrepreneurs getting out of their safety zones solving real problems for us. Today, I can take an Uber cab to office and not bother to look for a rickshaw or book an Oyo room at 999 and be sure of the quality. Here comes another startup, this time from Hyderabad  that makes my life not just convenient but also gratifying. Built2cook, an ingredient delivery startup, delivers pre-portioned ingredient box that helps you cook 5 star recipes within 20 minutes. It doesn’t matter what your level of expertise is, you will create an authentic recipe if you follow their 5 simple steps.

Step6

When was the last time you explored the chef within you? If you have then you would know that cooking is not an easy task to accomplish, especially when you are ambitious enough to make someting exoctic-you need to first have the energy and time to find a recipe, go shop every ingredient in the recipe, chop the veggies, clean the meat and then finally get promoted to a chef to begin the real cooking. Buil2cook solves all of this by taking care of the initial steps and lets you unravel the chef within you just in few mins.

All you need is a pan and a stove, every ingredient including salt or oil is bundled creatively in right quantity for you to just throw into your pan. Built2cook makes cooking really simple by breaking down the whole recipe into 5 steps. Here is why I like Built2Cook:

  1. Saves time and energy: 20 minutes is what the box guarantees at the max.
  2. Saves money: How often do you buy ingredients and end up using it just once or twice till the bottle expires?
  3. Makes cooking a child’s play: Every recipe is broken down to just five steps and with a “picture instructions card”, even a first timer can cook authentic thai prawn curry!
  4. I can bet getting those rare ingredients in a local shop is no less than a wild goose chase.
  5. A 5 star level “taste and quality” dish in just 250 bucks is a good deal
  6. Above all, it makes you a master chef!

How it happened?

Built2Cook founder Altaf Saiyed graduated from Stanford Business School and came back to India to work for a large corporation. He realised that authentic cuisine was tough to get around and even more tough to cook. The problem led to a startup idea and post validation he established the first operating unit in Hyderabad with an executive chef from a leading 5 star hotel chain. Built2cook now changes menu every week giving it’s customers new dishes to try. When asked the secret behind the tasty food, Altaf replied excitedly,“We source the finest ingredients hand picked by our chefs, they are then cleaned, cut  and measured to gourmet perfection making it a really foolproof way to cook ”.

Now and the Future:

It’s just been three months for Built2cook in Hyderabad and they are now out to start in Mumbai this month. They have more than 5 chefs on board already to design new boxes for us every week. Get an authentic Thai Green curry or  a Wasabi prawn box at the comfort of your house and it will not cost a staggering 1500 but just couple of hundreds.

It’s time to wear the chef hat and put on the apron to impress someone with your cooking skills. Lazy for that? Just give the box to your maid and she is now capable enough to make a 5-star dish for you. Happy cooking! Happy eating!
