But now all thanks to the city based startup – Commut, travelling to work places be as convenient as it was until now. ‘Commut’ is a minibus shuttle service for daily office commuters. This firm operates air conditioned mini buses at high frequency in popular routes at very affordable prices. The app enables you to book your ride from a specific pickup and drop point (point to point service).
Commut aims to make daily office travel comfortable and hassle free experience. COMMUT is a young and vibrant company, backed by google maps, RTC, Metro and data collected personally on a daily basis, the team of this app is striving to come up with a route optimization algorithm which enables them to identify the most efficient routes dynamically in real time.
This app has been the brainchild of a bunch of IIIT-ians from Hyderabad – Prasanth Garapati, Hemanth Jonnalagadda, Sandeep Kachavarapu, Charan Thota, Srujai Varikuti.
The team at StartupHyderabad.com got a chance to get in touch with Prasanth, and during our interaction we asked him about the idea behind starting this startup. “We were always socially conscious and wanted to do something good for the society. One of our co-founders used to travel every day from Dilshuknagar to Hitech city every day for work. He was frustrated with the existing transportation options. Either he had to wait for long time and then stand and travel all the way, or book the expensive cabs (not to forget the surge pricing in peak times (500-600 for long distance) or drive all the way in heavy traffic for 20-25 KM. There is no way he can travel comfortably at affordable price. After discussions and thorough background research we realized the scale of the problem, and severity is more especially for women. We then decided to solve the complex situation of mass commutation ourselves and started Commut. We quit our high paying jobs to dedicate full time and are striving everyday to make daily travel a hassle free and smooth experience for office goers. On the other hand we want to contribute to environment by reducing the no of motor vehicles on road. Commut provides comfort levels of own car at much affordable price”
