Four key drivers for growing a Saas business faster

Every business will look for ways to get on a fast track to success quickly. Not everyone needs your product, and that’s okay. Therefore, trying to go after everyone in presenting your product is simply a waste of time.

As leaders, we will have to reduce our key drivers and KPIs for our top of the funnel activities early to be successful. While we experiment with many activities during our initial days, it is equally important to find out what will produce the desired results. With over a year of experience building Truepush, I have narrowed down four key factors that have accelerated our growth.

Develop a strong rich content marketing strategy

The content strategy is about creating, managing, and selecting the media that you create (of course, you own). These media can be of any format, text, audio, video and image tailored to your audience.

You can always start with the simplest and most basic form of content, text. Although, it is recommended to work in other formats to cover the general audience. Remember! You don’t know how your audience likes to consume your content.

Be driven by the agenda while creating or choosing a format. At Truepush, we come up with a plan over many small/large experiments and focus on one strategy.

∙ We experimented with 2-3 approaches to website content, keeping optimization in mind.

∙ Our blogs talked about our product and the problem it could solve. To attract more audience, we smartly work our titles, infuse Truepush and the offer in between. Example: How Using Push Notifications in your Marketing Funnel Up-slopes your Brand?, Increasing Your Ecommerce Conversion With Push Notifications, etc.

∙ We also optimize our blogs by linking relevant blogs within the content. This helped us improve our average page depth.

∙ Frequently Asked Questions, How-To Guides, and Integration Guides are a must-have and help you adopt tools. These guides help you reduce your reliance on subject matter experts. We have seen almost a decrease in demo calls if you have clearly explained the process.

White papers are reports to inform the audience about complex problems that can be solved from our experience in creating the product and helping multiple clients from different verticals.

A rockstar SEO / Web Analytics team for growth

Good SEO practice will help you drive traffic to your website that would otherwise be very difficult to receive. Traffic effectiveness can be measured with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other notable tools like Diib, webmaster tools, and Moz bar. These tools will measure the success of the activities you perform around the SEO activities listed:

Customer retention and engagement
  • Not many know that article submission is one of the most powerful ways to gain traction on your website. Submission is about finding the right forum and tactfully promoting your website. You just have to find websites for your product category (you’ll get tons of them online) and start your shipments. Quora is a website that works like a charm for any product, but just be sure to follow your community guidelines and not get removed by your moderating team.
  • On-page SEO (also known as “on-site SEO”) is the practice of optimizing the content of the web page for search engines and users. Common on-page SEO practices include optimizing for title tags, content, internal links, and URLs. There is a lot of SEO information available online, the only advice I can give is to do it diligently.
  • Keyword ranking – where your website ranks in search engines for a keyword-relevant to your business (push notifications in the case of Truepush). Done correctly, it will have a huge impact on your web traffic, lead generation, and conversions. You should first prepare a list of the top 20 keywords and create a content strategy for your website and blogs so that these keywords are mentioned frequently. The only thing to make sure is not to mention it too many times, as this is a practice against search engine policy. In addition, the relevance of the keywords is also important, otherwise, Google will consider your article to be misleading and it is very likely that it will not rank in the search engines.
  • Resolve website discrepancies by disavowing unwanted links, fix issues of

Customer retention and engagement should be the # 1 priority

To stay relevant, you will have to listen to your customer and make sure they are happy. A great product is only one of its faces, but if you don’t involve them during your tool build, you are more likely to have little success or your product will perish soon.

Create a great customer experience from the moment your user signs up to delight your customer. The process we follow at True Push to engage and retain customers is as follows:

Strong support and technical assistance team is crucial for a technology product like us. Most of your conversions happen from the chat widget on your website. If you can generate the trust of your user in the first conversation, especially as if the user is here to stay. We ensure that the response time of the support email/chat line is always less than 5 minutes; quick responses surprise users, especially for a free platform like Truepush. People would compare it to other platforms that ask them to pay a hefty amount for a not so great support line. This differentiation gave us an advantage over other players in the market.

Some testimonials from our clients about our product (Images of testimonials in attachment)

The easy onboarding, quick demonstration, and robust training module booking processes ensured that the product was seamlessly adopted. We provide clients with the possibility of reserving a calendar through chats and emails. The training modules were documented and created with a suitable script for a quick execution of the process. The first communication between the touchpoints and the last email (post-demo) ran quickly and gave us quick results.

Improve your customer engagement and retention game by reaching out to the customer by offering help at different stages, through a powerful call to action that tells them the next steps. For example: if they don’t send notifications for a while, remind them to interact with your users.

Encourage your customers to be part of your product roadmap by providing them with tips in push notifications. Be open to feedback, as most of your customers are power users and have used similar tools created by competitors. Implement your suggestion if you are helping customers in general. We create WhatsApp groups for the main clients who share information so that their products grow. Conduct webinars with them to capture their thought leadership in the video.

Simply put, delight your customers by being available to them and your willingness to listen.

Have a partnership, demand generation and public relations plan

We have an ever-changing business development strategy formulated for Truepush. It always changes because we change it quite frequently until it gives us the desired results. Our idea of a meaningful partnership is to drive growth for Truepush, primarily focused on improving growth metrics such as domain authority, page authority, and website traffic. How?

You backlinks me, your strategy helped us get good quality backlinks without breaking a sweat. When we blog, we look for the opportunity to link to relevant blog links. In return, we go ahead and ask your website owner to backlinks our blog. This win-win strategy helps you improve domain authority, hence your website’s ability to rank higher.

The partnership and collaboration strategy allowed us to partner with various accelerators, media partners, and infrastructure companies to drive growth. These associations helped bring Truepush to the wider community. Programs or campaigns are planned and executed in such a way that subscriptions are waived in a number.

EX: We hosted a webinar to invite industry leaders from various domains to discuss the emerging opportunities and challenges that startups and corporations face during the extraordinary times of the pandemic. We have partnered with media companies, startups (StartupHyderabad), Meetup groups (StartupTalks), Telangana Incubator Center, T-hub, and Amazon Web Services for the webinar, which helped us get more event registrations from all the categories. The event received great applause from the attendees and thus turned out to be a great success. This broader reach has helped us bring our brand closer to communities and forgot not to mention that we have even generated subscriptions for greater opportunities.

Our demand generation and channeling strategy started recently and has already obtained more than 30 leads in a short time. We created two broadcasts: product presentation and podcast presentation, both aimed at generating good quality leads for Truepush.

Always remember, no matter how big an organization is or how small a startup is, every brand looks for various options, so save your marketing budgets!

We reached out to several prospects via Linkedin to discuss our product, making them aware of Truepush and how it can help your business save $, and simultaneously invited a few prospects to our flagship Game of Growth podcast platform.

Growth game focused on two objectives,

 1. Build greater loyalty with them,

2. Get the attention of digital marketers/marketers and developers.

This initiative gave us a lot of momentum and qualified leads that helped us shape our product roadmap.

Our media and public relations strategy was simple; We emailed the media companies and asked them to publish coverage of us. Our numbers told a great story and therefore the media preferred to talk about us. We strive to get one post a month, thus bringing the brand to more people.

Audio and video content helped us improve our presence on video platforms such as Youtube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcast, and many more. Our content assets across multiple platforms helped us rank higher in search engines and helped us reach more people who prefer audio/video content over text. In short, we are improving our area of influence by serving a large audience.
