Business travels can be quite a pain if not planned properly. Most of the business trips are impromptu ones that you cannot avoid. Frequent domestic and international travels definitely brings in jet lag and makes your body tired mentally and physically.

With all this in mind, it is quiet imperative that you may not get time to plan your travels and work smartly while these trips keeping coming into your schedule and that’s when we come to your rescue. Here are a few smart tips that will help you reduce your mental stress of travelling and will let you concentrate on more important things  –

travel

Fix a luggage bag with all essentials put into it all the time

There are certain must haves when you are travelling. So, buy in extra sets of those must haves  and keep them handy in your luggage all the time. This will save lot of your time while packing and will also eliminate the situation of you missing out on packing the bare essentials that you would require. These bare essentials could be your regular toiletries in travel size options, a first aid kit, generic medicines,  a pair of socks etc.

Keep all travel documents and ID proofs all together at one place

Passport and ID proofs come first in this list. To save on time and hurry burry running here and there searching for these documents at the last moment, keep all these documents in one folder at one place. There may be other travel documents that you might require as part of your business trip. Keep all of them handy in one folder. Even better, save a scanned copy of all of it in your email.

Zip your way through security Checks

Zip your way through security checks. Be familiar with what to pack and what not to and have things like laptop etc which need to removed readily accessible. If there is more than one line, look for the line with the maximum number of solo or business travellers. Time is precious for all of them and we are pretty sure they would like to zip through the line too! Avoid lines with leisure travellers, married couples and kids (no offence!). Keep things like keys, change etc in your bag so that you don’t have to empty your pockets every time you go through the security check.

Nonstop vs Direct Flights

While booking your ticket, check whether you are booking a nonstop or a direct flight. A direct flight might make a stop briefly at some airport in between though you may not have to get off the plane while a nonstop flight makes no stops in between.

Internet access

If you have a lot of work that need sot be taken care of during the travel, seasoned travellers suggest investing in an internet connection or a dongle that you can use all the time. Though airports and hotels offer wifi services, often they are very slow and involve a lot of time  and hassle in getting connected.

Sleep while on the flight

Ditch the working while flying idea and try to get sleep as much as possible. The best way to grab some rest while on a hectic business trip is to sleep while you are on the flight. This will get you rest and will also save you from some jet lag, which you obviously don’t need if you have back to back meetings. Invest in a good travel pillow.

Skip the last minute preparation from office and plan to leave early for the airport

“Your flight is at 2PM and being at the airport by 1 PM will do, so I have 15 more minutes to work on my presentation!” Skip this and instead reach the airport a little early and do your last minute preparations there. Wondering why? Because this will save you the running and tensions at the last minute. It will not allow you any chances of running late because of unexpected traffic or a flat tire. You can conveniently check in and sit at the airport and work on your last minute preps till you can actually board the flight!

Keep these tips in mind. Smart work and proper planning is going to make your trip hassle and stress free. Have a safe flight!
