Travel Electric!

The daily commute of a common man sees a variety of travel modes from autos, to buses, to trains and personal owned vehicles but, we shouldn’t forget that the country which is growing rapidly in terms of consuming. It’s the simple 101 economics where more demand equals to more supply and it’s the same when it comes to public commute. More the people, more the necessity of transport and eventually, more pollution. Is there any alternative solution to transportation then? Yes, indeed.

What are we looking at?

With soaring gasoline prices and clouds of sulfur poisoning the air around us there was a dire need for an alternative transportation method. Gayam Motor Works a.k.a GMW responded to this challenge with their next-gen smart autos which run on electricity. Taking it further with lithium batteries instead of the conventional ladac batteries, these electric powered vehicles run about 110 kilometers in a single charge. This little bundle of sunshine emits no smoke, consumes zero gasoline and it is decibel-free.

Interesting, tell me more…

Minimalism in design with efficient power and the combination of technology comes as a disruption in the segment of public commute. GMW has come up with Urban ET, which is a passenger auto and Taskman Pickup for goods and logistics. These autos are fully equipped with features like:

  • Low center of gravity for stability
  • Torsion-resistant suspensions for better ride quality and rough road conditions
  • On board charger for faster charge of the vehicle
  • Solar charging option

They went a step ahead with the future proof concept and integrated a virtual dashboard and real time tracking system with a click on your Android device.

Wow! I mean… How?

The virtual dashboard functions as the speedometer, odometer, shows the state of battery and range left, all on your android mobile. All you need to do is, download the app from the play store, switch on your bluetooth and you’re good to go! Coming to the real time tracking system, you just need to login to the app and the fleet owners can track the vehicles. It doesn’t end there, a remote disable function enables the fleet owner or the police to shut down the auto in case of an emergency.

Disruption 2.0

It’s not just about smart travelling or changing lifestyles or putting old ideas into new bottles but that disruptive idea which will prove to be a game changer for everybody living around us. Wondering what we’re talking about? GMW claims that the Urban ET and Taskman pickup provides a great solution to the nation’s power problems. Simply plug-in the vehicle to an electric socket and the on board batteries from the vehicle will power two CFLs, one fan and a television for about 10 hours.

So…

GMW is paving the path to a cleaner, greener and emission free ecosystem and reaching a common ground between comfort, technology and good life.

It's kinda weird when you have to write about yourself so... Let's do this? I write, photograph & make music. I do not approve monotony while alternative education, sarcasm & backpacking tops my list and I totally dig garage-culture! I was a former journalist at The Times of India and a freelancer for Rolling Stone magazine. You can go ahead and check out my work: www.500px.com/rahuldasproject That's it, I guess?
