Upshot – A Hyderabad based company makes it to the top 10 tech companies of the year

Techspark, an event organised by YourStory, 6th of it’s kind was held in Bangalore this year. The three day event was packed with a series of speaker sessions, panel discussions and startup pitches. Some of the biggest names from the industry, including Naveen Tewari of InMobi, Dhiraj Rajaram of Mu Sigma, Shashank ND of Practo, T V Mohandas Pai, and 50 other experts, spoke at the event. The highlight of the event like every year was the “Tech30” competition that announced the most innovative and promising 30 tech companies in the country. After scrutinising more than 1200 applications, the team invited the companies that made it to the prestigious tech30 list to pitch to the investors during the event.

Upshot (Previously Brand Kinesis), a Hyderabad based startup made it to the top 30 and the top 10 who pitched to the crowd on the final day of the event. Upshot is a mobile SDK that gets messaging, personalisation and analytics to mobile apps. It is a mobile app engagement platform that will help developers deliver 10x better user experiences. The product claims to take personalisation to the next level by allowing a publisher personalise features, content, user interface and messaging specific to the end user and the context. It also provides the most advanced app analytics along with prediction helping the app owner take informed decisions for the above.

Bharath Lingam, the Chief Executive Officer of Upshot, pitched at the Tech 30 event. He explained that the mission of the product is to build a layer of intuition that makes software more intuitive delivering an enhanced user experience. He emphasised that mobile is just the beginning and their mission will be extended far beyond mobile to software in general. The product along with it’s personalisation suite offers a complete suite of marketing products for mobile which includes analytics, segmentation, in-app and push messaging and also some widgets like tutorials and faqs that could handle support and smooth on-boarding for the user in a personalised manner.

Upshot has already won its initial clients that includes enterprises like CBS Interactive, UnitedHealth Group and Tenet healthcare and startups like Cukuu, NukkadShops, GoMingle and Filibuster. Upshot has solutions across the app lifecycle starting from acquiring, on-boarding, engaging, monetising and retaining users. Know more about the company here.
