RobusTest – a mobile app testing platform

RobusTest is a sophisticated platform that enables mobile app creators to test their mobile app’s functionality and performance on real devices. Statistics state that most of the app users are not very forgiving towards mobile apps which crash or do not work as expected i.e. they will uninstall it without giving feedback or reporting the issue and never install it again.

This puts an important responsibility on part of the app creator to ensure that his/her apps are properly tested to provide the expected experience and the range of devices it may be run on. “It works on my device” will not help if you want your app to succeed.

RobusTest helps app publishers test both Android as well as iOS apps. RobusTest is run by Om and Aishwarya who are currently working with some of the leading names in their businesses. Om has a background of creating sophisticated test tools and is a prolific polyglot when it comes to programming languages. He has worked with companies like Amazon, Oracle and Urban Ladder. Aishwarya has worked in a wide range of roles ­ from software testing to learning & development to developer community management. Om and Aishwarya have worked together at Pramati Technologies, ­ a pioneer in the product development space and a company from our own Hyderabad.

The idea of a mobile testing platform was born out of Om’s immense passion in the software test automation space. He has created multiple products in the web app automation testing space. With the app wave going towards its peak, it was only natural that they build something to help mobile app publishers test their apps. From then started their journey of building a mobile app testing platform with a difference.

What differentiates RobusTest from other companies operating in the same space is the fact that the platform holds the capability to serve the entire range of software testing needs ­ right from real devices, to manual testing (with thoughtful features to make testing easier), to a painless recording of test cases and a performance­first approach to mobile app testing.

While the team is currently working with customers in the Indian market, they aim to enter the US and UK markets very soon. “We feel there is a huge potential for a platform like RobusTest. There are players in that market already but we are confident of being able to succeed with our range of features, our ability to iterate fast on new capabilities and at a price that gets a sophisticated product like ours in within the reach of most app publishers.” says Om, one of the founders.

“We are currently working mostly in an enterprise licensing model where we license our platform to run on­premise on customer’s IT infrastructure. Having said we have some exciting propositions including crowdsourcing and a SaaS base model where app publishers can use our platform for a specific time and pay only for their usage.” quotes Aishwarya.

“Now since our product has been validated by multiple enterprises, we are looking to add customers at a faster pace in the coming months. We will need to ensure that we hire the best available talent to keep pace with our growth strategy.” adds an excited Om.
